Q: How Do You Remove A Ford Focus Mk1 bumper?
How Do You Remove A Ford Focus Mk1 bumper? I have a 1999 Ford Focus and need to replace the front bumper. Anybody have a step by step guide or done it themselves?

A: Never done one on a focus before, but normally there is like a plastic guard that goes right around the wheel arch, held on by bolts, take the plastic guard off both sides and you should be able to see into the back/side of the bumper, also if there like escort bumpers, which i think they are…there will be some bolts in front of the radiator, i think theres 2 to the left and 2 to the right, next to each Other.

Q: where I can get a 2002 Ford Focus radiator overflow bottle?
I was wondering where I can get (online, I’ve tried everywhere here in El Paso,Tx) a 2002 Ford Focus radiator overflow bottle? Thanks!

A: Dealer has them.. they call it a Degas bottle and it will cost more to get it over the net and wait for it than call the local Ford dealers and get them to order it for you.

Q: Ford Focus power steering rack part of the powertrain warranty?
the power steering rack of my 2004 ford focus is leaking. Is it under the 5 y / 100,000km powertrain warranty? If not, how much would it cost to fix the pbm?

A: No. The steering system is not part of the power train. The power train consists of the engine, transmission and differential.

Q: How many miles can a 2005 Ford Focus last?
I just wanted to know how many miles a 2005 Ford Focus would last since im thinking about buying a 2005 with 147000 miles.

A: It depends on the driver and how well you maintain the vehicle. A well maintained Ford Focus normally has a life span of 200,000 miles. Especially for the 05’s
.

Q: Does anyone know where to buy a rear cup holder for a 2001 Ford Focus?
I am going to buy a 2001 Ford Focus, but it needs a middle arm console and a rear middle cup holder. I found a console on ebay, but does anyone know where I can find a cup holder?

Q: Whats the largest engine that can be put into a Ford Focus without frame modification?
Whats the largest engine that can be put into a Ford Focus without any modification to the frame or body itself? Would it be possible to fit an LS1 motor into it?

A: if you dont want to modify the frame, well for 1, any swap other than maybe a focus svt swap is a bad idea… LS1 would be an extremely bad swap because you would have to convert it to RWD, and if you dont want to modify the frame, im guessing you dont want change a whole rear end

Q: Why would an engine warning light come on on a Ford Focus Ghia?
I was driving home in my new 2007 Ford Focus Ghia, that I have owned for 4 days, and the engine warning light came on. I ran a diagnostic test, and it said 130C for the engine temp, although the gauge only said 80-odd degrees. I have restarted the car and diagnostic and now it said 60 degrees and the light is still on? Any previous experiences or advice from anyone out there?

A: EFI system malfunction ..just take it to local auto service..faster better..u dont want this malfunction stop ur engine while u’re in hurry, right ?

Q: How do you replace the serpentine belt on a 2001 Ford Focus?
I’m replacing the serpentine belt on a 2001 Ford Focus but I need a good diagram for how it goes on. Thank you!
It has dual cams.

A: Using a 13mm wrench on pulley #8 as depicted in the diagram provided below, pull CLOCKWISE to relieve belt tension. Hope this helps.

Q: How do I change the rear disc brakes on a ford focus st170 52 plate?
Hi I have changed the front disc and pads on my ford focus st170 but the back are a nightmare I gather I have to somehow adjust the cylinder back (that looks like a castle) but after turning it and turning it I am not getting anywhere does anyone here know how to do it?

A: you need a tool to do this properly, its like a mini threaded press that forces piston back as it winds.if you try using molegrips or similar you usually end up damaging the piston seal and then after a while it will start to stick,
you can buy this tool for about £20, halfords or somewhere, aslo fits a few other makes too. if you dont lay out money for it then it will cost you more if youre pistons seize up.
basically you need to force piston back at the same time as you turn it,( clockwise)

Q: What models of cars have interchangeable parts with the 2007 Ford Focus?
I need to get a spare tire. I’m going to a junk yard. Are there any other Model car wheels that will work with a Ford Focus?

Thank you

A: The C-max and the old Mondeo (2000-2007)’s wheels will definitely fit OK.

The older Focus (1998-2005), and most of the older Fords are different.

A Mazda 3’s wheels are probably the same, as they are on the same running gear, but I’m not 100% sure about this.

Q: I have a ford focus, what can I do to make the car look more sporty?
I have a 2005 ford focus. It’s silver and has a spoiler. What else can I add or do to the car to make it look more sporty? Should I add racing stripes or light covers. Does anyone have any ideas?

A: well my self im a chevy person, you should trade ur car in for a chevy camaro :) looks sporty right their, heh lol . personally if i had the focus, id put a body kit on it, they run about 1200 bux, a new set of aftermarket rims and rubber, another 600-1200 their, aftermarket hood, cupple hundred maybe. and a completely unique paint job, pick a colour you love, aftermarket headlights tail lights, put some racing stripes, their my favourite lol. if you dont wanna spend big bux, stick with a paint job, put some vinyls on the body of the car, get a ford racing sticker for the front windshield,

Q: Will the new ford focus have a button to start the engine?
will the new ford focus have a button to start the engine,i would like to know.

A: yes

Q: In replacing the evaporator in a 2003 Ford Focus, do I need to sauter?
I am in the process of replacing the evaporator in my 2003 Ford Focus – will the new evaporator need to be sautered on? Also, assuming that there is a leak in the evaporator, is there any remedy short of replacing it?

A: If the evaporator is leaking you will lose refrigerant. The system should be evacuated with a vacuum pump and a set of manifold gauges. This will show if there is a leak. I assume you know how to test for leaks? The evaporator has connectors that use o rings and no soldering is needed. The dashboard will also need to be removed to do the job. You should check for leaks as the usual problem is the o rings leak and need replaced to solve problem. I am not sure you know what the evaporator is or how to check for leaks. A big expense if the leak is not in the evaporator.

Q: 2005 Ford Focus makes a weird vibrating noise coming from the front?
I have a 2005 Ford Focus and it makes a really weird vibrating noise coming from the front of my car on the passenger side near the air bag? What is this noise? It has been making this weird noise for months…my husband thinks it’s the motor mount…help!

A: Motor mount? Not likely. The car is too new. The most common source of vibrations in front wheel drive cars is one or more tires out of balance and/or cupped. An out of balance condition is easy and inexpensive to fix. Just balance the tires. Tire cupping (looks like somebody took chunks out of the tire tread area with an ice cream scoop) can be more time consuming to repair and/or more expensive. If the cupping isn’t too severe, you can rotate the tires and continue to drive the car. The tire wear will eventually equalize and the vibration will go away. If the cupping is too severe, you’ll have to replace the tires.

MapleLeafs gives good advice when he says take it to the dealer and ask the service manager or the service writer to go for a ride with you. Vibrations and noises are one of the most difficult problems to diagnose.
