Q: How much does it cost to paint a Hyundai Elantra?
I live in Toms River, New Jersey and I recently bought a gold 2002 Hyundai Elantra. It has black tinted windows in the back and i would like to get the car painted black. Its my first car and i got it really cheap from a family friend for $2700 so I’m not looking to spend a lot on painting it,but I don’t want it to be some really crappy job either. How much would it be to get a cheap decent paint job and if anyone knows where I could get one done would be a great help too !
Thanks
A: Depends on where you have it done and how much rust/dents need to be repaired. Cost for a cheap job, about $300/$400.. for a good job about $4000/ $6000. A good job done right could would be higher.
Q: Can someone attach a trailer hitch to a Hyundai elantra and pull a airstream behind the car or not?
I have a Hyundai elantra and am thinking about pulling an airstream behind it.Is this possible or will the laws of physics be against me?
A: It may pull it, but it will not pull it far.
The Elantra has a larger towing capacity than most cars (3086 lbs if you have trailer brakes) and most Airstream Trailers weigh much more than that.
You will be putting extreme stress on your vehicle, and will cause it to fail prematurely.
Q: How do you program the key fob for a 2010 Hyundai Elantra GLS?
I just bought a 2010 Elantra GLS. The dealer gave me two key fobs, neither of which are programmed to my specific car. Is there a way to program them myself? I would rather not spend the $30+ at a Hyundai dealership if it’s a simple fix. Thanks!
A: Yes and the way is to go back to the dealer and make them do their job. Programing is part of the price you paid for the car and any REPUTABLE dealer would never have let the car go without it being done. Good luck getting warranty work done also, Hyundai is well known for hassling customers about warranty work also…..

Q: Which spark plug is good for my hyundai elantra?
I have a 2002 Hyundai Elantra and I wanted to know what brand of Spark plugs would be best for my car.
A: Champion is always best and they sell them for all cars.

Q: Where can I find a wiring diagram for the coil pack of a 1996 Hyundai Elantra?
My 1996 Hyundai Elantra won’t start. Looking around the Coil Packs, I see a dangling wire. Its a green wire that plugs into something. My question is…where does that wire go? Can somebody help me to locate a wiring diagram for that area of the engine compartment? Any help would be much appreciated.
A: Is your wire dangling off the coil pack or the main harness near the coil packs? My guess is it’s one of the wires that connects the clip for the coil to the main harness. There should be a small clip on each coil. If the wire is still connected to the main harness, you need to find the clip with not enough wires and probably have to replace the pigtail. If you have it connected to the coil but not the main harness, follow the other wires from the same clip back to the harness and pull back the insulation to find the broken wire, then reconnect them with a butt connector or shrink tube and cover with the insulation.
Q: I have a hyundai elantra 2004 and am having problems iwth the emission system?
What does Evaporative Emission Control System Purge Control Valve Circuit Open mean with a hyundai elantra 2004?
what parts need to be replaced is this a major problem?
A: In your fuel tank, you have gasoline and gasoline vapors. If the system were completely sealed, the gas tank would build pressure or vacuum as the temperature changes. This could be easily be remedied with a venting gas cap, which was in fact what older cars used, but federal law prohibits the release of gasoline vapor into the atmosphere. So vehicle manufacturers needed to develop a system to manage the fuel vapors.
Taking advantage of the fact that charcoal absorbs fuel vapors, you vehicle is equipped with a plastic canister with charcoal pellets in it. One end of the canister then vents to atmosphere where fresh air can be sucked in as necessary. The presence of the charcoal prevents the vapors from being released. The other end of the canister is connected to the intake manifold of your engine through a solenoid valve (called a purge control valve) controlled by the engine control module (ECM). Under certain driving conditions, the ECM will open the valve, allowing the engine operation to suck the fuel vapors into the intake and burn them as part of the engine operation.
Whether you’ll need to replace the purge valve will depend on how it has failed. If it’s stuck open, you may have difficulty starting your engine after refueling. In the event of such a failure, when you fill your fuel tank, you’ll be forcing the fuel vapors into the engine, creating a flooding condition. If the purge valve is stuck closed, you’re unlikely to see any negative effects.
I would expect that your check engine lamp is on or will come on due to the problem you have with the purge valve. If you’re in an emissions attainment area (mandatory vehicle emissions testing), this will likely cause you to fail the emissions test. In addition, if the check engine lamp is on and another problem develops, you’ll have no way to know that you have an additional problem unless you just happen to scan for codes and find additional codes.

Q: How much could I get for my 2005 Hyundai Elantra?
2005 Hyundai Elantra
51,000 miles (city miles)
Houston, TX
Good Condition
No Accidents
Do you think it would be possible to get $10,000?
I’ve done KBB and another site. The worth was about $8,000-$10,000. What I’m asking is if there is anyone, in their professional opion, or in their knowledge know whether it’s actually possible to get about $10k.
A: NO.
JUST CHECKING THE BASIC MODEL RETAIL IN VERY EXCELLENT CONDITION IS GOING FOR $9400.00.
Q: What are your thoughts on the Hyundai Elantra?
I came across a bunch of ads for a 2006 Hyundai Elantra & all of them have less than 75,000 KMs & are going for less than $8000.
Thinking about getting one.
A: The Hyundai Elantra is one of Hyundai’s most reliable and longest lasting vehicles. You don’t have to take my word for it, the Elantra has won numerous safety and reliability awards and been recognized as a very economical and reliable vehicle.
Q: what would be the best price to deal for hyundai elantra gls automatic trans?
Dear All,
I am about to purchase a new car either hyundai elantra GLS automatic or kia optima LS automatic both for 2007. Anyone has idea for deal ? what would be the best price I go for ? thanks !
A: The 2008 Elantra’s are now out so you should be able to get a very good deal. Assuming you are getting CD, AC, Vanity Mirror and carpet package, the MSRP is $16580, Edmunds says actual price people are paying now is $15540. I would start my negoations at $14000 though and see if you can get it for around $14,500. Depending on the dealer, you might be able to get it for this price, so don’t be affraid to walk out, sitting there for hours is a waste of your time.
Q: Is it worth it to put money into a 1999 hyundai elantra?
I don’t have the money to buy a new car so I thought maybe i could put some money into my current 1999 hyundai elantra. I would repaint it black, tint the windows, black out the tail lights, get a spoiler and a muffler. And possibly some other things down the road. Would it look good? Is it worth it?
A: None of that stuff is going to make the car lasts longer or drive better, so I dont see how it is worth it. Put the money in the bank.
Q: What is the towing capacity for a Hyundai Elantra?
What is the towing capacity for a Hyundai Elantra?
A: I had to change my response when I seen this-
Hyundai Elantra: No, this is not a typo. The Elantra offers 3,086 pounds of towing capacity when trailer brakes are used (without the brakes, it tops out at 1,000 pounds). That’s not much by truck standards, but for a budget-priced compact sedan, it’s exceptional. Note that this is 1,000 pounds more than full-size sedans like the Cadillac DeVille and Mercury Grand Marquis are rated to carry.
Here is the article from Edmunds.com and it is listed under the top 10 vehicles for towing(trucks included).

Q: How many miles do you have left when the gas light comes on for a 2005 Hyundai Elantra?
How many miles do you have left when the gas light comes on for a 2005 Hyundai Elantra?
A: I drove myself an 05 Elantra as a Demo vehicle and did a lot of testing. One of them was to drive the car until empty and measure how many Km will drive from turning the gas light on, until it dies. I managed to pull 70 KM (43.75 miles).
This is a measured fact. I did this to be able to respond my service customer to this kind of question

Q: How big is a Hyundai Elantra gas tank?
Hi Guys,
The gas gauge is broken on my 1997 Hyundai Elantra and I don’t really want to pay to get it fixed. I’m going to just go by the mileage to see when I should fill it up instead. However, I’m not sure exactly how many gallons it takes to fill my gas tank. I think it’s between 10-12, but I’m not positive. This would help in determining how many miles I should go before fill up. If you have any tips for me, I’d be grateful. Thanks!
A: The answer is…14 gallons for the 2009 model, http://www.hyundaiusa.com/vehicle/elantra/specs/specs.aspx
For your 1997 model the answer is…14.5 gallons. http://www.edmunds.com/used/1997/hyundai/elantra/136/specs.html
Based on http://www.fueleconomy.gov your car averages 24 mpg, so even if you are only using 12 gallons that means you can go 285 miles between fill ups without having to worry.
