Q: Where Is The Kill Switch On A 2003 Hyundai Sonata?
I have a 2003 Hyundai Sonata and was wondering if or where there might be a “fuel shut off switch” or a “kill switch”

A: And once again, not one has read the question, which asks “Is there an inertia switch which cuts off fuel flow in case of an accident?” if you read it.

Look at the drivers side under the dash area for a hole with a push button, if there isn’t one there, check the trunk, again probably on the driver’s side for the reset.

If you bumped something fairly hard, or if the airbag went off, it probably needs to be reset.

Q: removing and replacint the radio on a 2000 hyundai sonata?
i bought a new radio for my 2000 hyundai Sonata and plan on having someone i know(that has had a little experience with car stereos) replace it for me.
how is he supposed to remove the dashboard and wood trim to get to the radio without damaging anything that needs to be put back?

A: First look for any screws and remove them. Second, gently pull the corner of pieces to pop them from the holders without damaging them, you may need a flathead screwdriver and towel (to prevent surface damage, place under screwdriver) to get in between. Take your time, after you get the first piece off it should be easier to remove the rest.

Q: keep the 2006 Hyundai Sonata or get a wrangler?
So I’m turning 16 soon and am looking for a car. I could just take my sisters 06 Hyundai Sonata for free because shell be going to college. Or should I buy a jeep wrangler. Probably just take the free car right?

A: “Probably just take the free car right?”

No need to rush. You should save up some money and buzz around with this thing for a few years. If you do that, you’ll be able to buy your Jeep with the money you saved.

A: try this site www.kbb.com, it gives you all the info you need, all you have to do is search your car in the used car box and it gives you the value. In my opinion i would say your car is worth around 3-4 thousand because it’s a KIA, they dont have high resale value and plus it’s a pretty old car,2001.

Q: 97 hyundai sonata transmission control module replacement?
would it be worth buying a 97 hyundai sonata with a v6 for $3000.00 if I have to replace the trans control module. I know its under the heater box. is it easy to replace? or better yet how do I install the part and what else would I have to do to get the check eng. light to turn off?

A: if you have a hoist it would make the job easir but its on top on the gearbox.

Q: How to fix a 2002 Hyundai sonata EVAP Emission control system, Check engine light?
I have a 2002 Hyundai sonata and the check engine light came on. I had a computer read out for it and they are telling me a its the EVAP Emission Control System Vent Circuit Malf. Code number P0446. The question is how do you fix it?

A: ill tell you how but i need the best answer from you :P

When did the light come on ? was it after you filled up your gas tank??

If that is the case you might want to go to the Gas Cap and make sure its tight – remove it and then turn it till you are JUST tight enough before it clicks THEN while pushing down on the cap turn it till you get 1 click that will ensure that the cap is on tight.

Reset the light and drive the vehicle for 500 miles – that will reset the Drive Cycle of the vehicle – and if there is still a problem then you will know that the Cap itself is defective or you have a plastic vent line broken seom where.

OH by the way – the Canister does not have a sensor on it – the vent sensor is located on the gas tank – it senses pressure , and what it does is manages the amount of loss in the tank – this happens to not allow fuel vapors in the AIR – hence cleaner vehicle polutants…… Check the gas cap reset light drive 500 miles recheck if light comes back on….done deal *)

Q: What is the difference between a hyundai Sonata and a Hyundai Azera?
New models, cosmetically, are barely different. And they are only less than 10 cm longer. So why is the Azera cionsidered full-size while the Sonata is only midsize????

A: I used to be a big Azera fan, but with the dramatic upgrade in the Sonata, and the introduction of the Genesis, I don’t see the point in the Azera.

The Sonata dominates the Accord and Camry hands-down in every category. The Genesis is by far the finest luxury car available under $80k, and full loaded is only half that.

Add to this that all of these vehicles carry a warranty that blows everyone else away, and a JD Power reliability rating that trails only Porche and Lexus.

And to the “know more about jets” dude – I’ll buy the best car available for the money, no matter who makes it (right now, that’s Hyundai – and unlike other carmakers, they’re still improving even further). And unless you’ve flown them (as I have), you don’t know more about jets than me; apparently not cars either.

Q: How many miles does your Hyundai Sonata have on it?
I have a 2001 Sonata with 107,000 miles on it. I don’t know if I should buy a new car or if this car still has some life left in it.

A: nissan and honda are nice, but you wont get the quality you would want out of them. therefore i recommend Toyota. and as for the hyundai…..roll it off a cliff. it isnt worth much. hope this helps! have a good day!

Q: Is a 2003 Hyundai Sonata a good choice for a first car?
I’m looking for something under $5000,
something sort of classy and sophisticated,
and a car that’s not necessarily new but
with a wash and wax will look really clean and nice.

If not a Sonata, do you have any other suggestions?

A: Well its a pretty reliable and nice car, but you can’t go wrong with Japanese.
A Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, Toyota Corolla, Nissan Altima or Nissan Maxima are great choices.
If you can up your budget you can look into an Infiniti I30, it’s very luxurious and a nice car too.

Q: change the batteries to my auto lock of hyundai does anyone know the codes to set it up? Hyundai sonata 2000?
have a hyundai 2000 need to reset my auto lock key holder any one knows the codes? the model is sonata.

A: Take it to the dealer… I just had a battery replaced on mine, let the dealer do it and they didn’t even charge me for the battery. If there was any problem they also took care of that as it works great now. (I wasn’t there when they did it)

Q: Has anyone out there got a Hyundai Sonata?
I’m thinking about buying a Hyundai Sonata CTRD 2.0. I’m not familiar with them so I don’t know if they are good or not. I would also like to know what mpg to expect. Any advice?

A: i had a sonata for many years,and only ever replaced the tyres.they are good and solid, very reliable and the one i had was remarkanly swift for a car of its size.my brother now has the car, and he has recently replaced the clutch, the first time since the car was made.(i bought it new iin 94).servicing costs are reasonable, but if like me you are handy with a spanner, then they are negligable. the ride comfort is excellent, and the economy is better than fair for such a solid car. mine returned 27 to 30 around town and 30 to 38 on a run, depending on ow heavy footed i was on the day.one tip. when on a run, dont use cruise control, you get more mpg without using it. odd i know, but a fact, my brother says the same.

Q: What’s the difference between a 2007 and a 2008 Hyundai Sonata? Are there any huge differences?
I’m planning on buying my first car, and I want it to be a Sonata, but I’m not exactly horribly rich. I was wondering is the 2007 model was so much different from the 2008. I might get a better deal on the 2007 and not loose too much.

A: There isn’t much difference between the 2007 and 2008 model, but the 2009 Sonata has been updated and improved. Mostly a refreshed exterior, new interior center stack, tweaked engines, and improved suspension. I’ve seen them at the dealerships already, and Car and Driver has reviewed it favorably. It’s called Hyundai Sonata Transform in Korea, and here is a short commercial showing it doing just that:

Q: Installing timing belt. Need instructions 2000 hyundai sonata?
In need of installation instructions for a 2000 hyundai sonata. None of the automotive part stores here have the repair manual for my car and the closest hyundai dealership is five hours away. The price of the repair manual there is $100!! Anyone happen to know the correct installation???

A: I read that your engine is already damaged, so I guess you can’t do much more by trying to do the install yourself. Btw, you don’t need a Hyundai dealer, any service station can install a timing belt for you. They will charge about $185 for the labor, more if additional work is needed.

Q: How do I program a remote for a 2002 Hyundai Sonata?
I recently purchased a keyless entry remote for my 2002 Sonata. However, I do not know how to program it. I know dealers do it, but that’s up near $75. Can anyone give me any tips? Thanks!

A: Hyundai is not included in the list of cars that can be programmed without a hi-scan tool. No secret instructions. Only dealers have the computer needed for the operation.
I’m afraid you’re going to have to go to the dealer. $75.00 seems very high though… we only charge $27.00.

If you have an aftermarket system you’ll have to contact the company that built it.

Q: 2008 Hyundai Sonata sun roof wind deflector installation?
How do you install a wind deflector for the sun roof on a 2008 Hyundai Sonata GLS? Does it just depend on the type I get or does the car already have screw holes as I know some Kia’s do. Thanks in advance!
